Anti-Illegal Alien Pledge Policy challenged

Highlight: Dodgen said similar policies meant to restrict employment of illegal immigrants have been ruled unconstitutional. Madison County's pledge is modeled on a Gwinnett County, Ga., policy that was later changed to say only that vendors must follow federal immigration law, he said.
The local pledge wades into immigration issues that are the exclusive territory of the federal government, Dodgen said, such as verifying Social Security numbers.
